Candidate Support Groups
National Board Candidate Support Sessions
These sessions are open to any National Board candidates, first time or retake, who received fee support funding through the National Board Certification program at Duquesne University. The sessions are provided at no cost to the candidates.
The sessions are highly recommended, but not required of candidates.
The purpose of the sessions is to support candidates in their work by:
- answering candidates’ questions
- helping candidates interpret entry directions
- evaluating video for sound and visual quality
- providing feedback on written commentary
Candidates are also welcome if they want to work on their commentary in a quiet place with minimal interruptions. There is no set agenda for the sessions.
There is no requirement that candidates attend the same support center all of the time. Sessions are offered in several venues and on different days of the week in some of the several counties in Duquesne University’s catchment area.
Candidates are encouraged to attend as many or few sessions as they find beneficial each month.
Candidates are required to email the support center contact person to indicate your intent to attend a particular session. Please make that contact at least one week prior to the session. If no one indicates that they will attend, the session leader will cancel the session.
